WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?
Gather all those video tapes from the past few years and bring them to us. Video
Doc Productions
will produce a 5 to 15 minute highlight video designed to create interest and excitement about your athlete
from the
coaches and athletic directors. We can add arrows to the video to highlight and point out your
athlete to the recruiter.
These recruiters get bombarded everyday with hundreds of videos.
What we need to do is make your athlete stand-out from the crowd
and
capture the
recruiter's attention within the first 2 minutes of a video.
Q? Can you put our program on DVD?
Absolutely! We can simply transfer your final video to DVD or VHS.
Check with your High School Coach or Athletic Director
to see
which format they recommend you use.
Q? How long should our Sports Scholarship
Video be?
Generally no longer than fifteen minutes and as a rule, the shorter the
better.
We live in a very fast-paced society, so make your video short and sweet.
Recruiters only have a short amount of time to determine whether or not
your student should
be looked at further or rejected. We need to knock-their-socks-off
within the first 2 minutes!
Q? How much will our video cost?
That's a good question! If you follow our guidelines and are well prepared,
you could expect your
video to take about 3 to 6 hours in editing. It is our goal, however, to
complete your project in
the shortest time possible while providing the highest possible quality.
Our editing
rates are $75 per hour.
Q? Do we have to be there for our edit
session?
Not Necessarily. Many of our clients are able to drop off their projects and
give us detailed
directions so we can edit their video on our own. This can really be a time
saver for you.
When we are done you simply come back for a viewing and
approval. Then we make the master DVD and the copies you will need.
Q? What makes an effective sports
video?
Well, the first requirement is good video. Ideally you should have us shoot
some video
of your athlete playing his/her sport which adds a touch of professionalism. If you
cannot afford
this or your season is completed, you can provide us with any videotape you have of their sport.
You
will need to watch every video in your VCR at home and make detailed time notes for us to
efficiently edit your video.
Reset your VCR's counter to 00:00 at the beginning of the tape.
Then watch the tape, make notes as to the start time
and stop time of the segment you want us to record.
You will need to make some additional notes describing what happened in
the play and the
player's numbers involved. For Example:
(at 10 minutes 20 second to 10 minutes 31
seconds - #22 passed the ball to #31 and #31
dunks the basketball.)
This will save time and money for you while we record each play into our
computer system.
Once we have all of the plays in the computer, we will then compile them together and insert
arrows above your player's head to point them out to the recruiter just before the play starts.
