Are you afraid the VCR is
going to eat your wedding tape? Is your 8mm camcorder broken and you no
longer can view your child’s first steps? Do you even own a VCR anymore?
Did you know that VHS tape has a shelf life of only 10-15 years before it
starts to degrade?
Videotapes were once thought of as the very best way to save the family
memories. They met our needs until we discovered that after 10
years or so, the images started fading and the tapes started breaking
down. The bad news is that once deteriorated, the quality of the
tape is for the most part, lost forever. Yes, with some color adjustment,
we may be able to salvage some of your tapes, but many elements of your
video can never be regained no matter how much correction we try to do to
it.
Video Doc Productions can take your
VHS or Betamax tapes, Camcorder Cassettes including VHS-C, Hi 8, 8mm,
Digital 8, Mini DV tapes and MiniDVDs and transfer them to DVD.
By moving your tapes to DVD, you are
converting them to a digital format, eliminating the deterioration
process that tape goes through. DVDs are also easier to copy than
VHS tapes. Making disk copies for family members promotes family bonding
and makes great gifts.

PRESERVE YOUR VIDEOTAPES TO DVD BEFORE
IT IS TOO LATE!
We just
saved over 45 videotapes for a family that had a house fire.
They
thought all their tapes were ruined. Video Doc Saved The Day!
Most of
the tapes were inside a plastic storage container.
The outside of each
tape was covered with smoke and soot but the tape inside
was fine. I took
the tape out of the shell and put it into a new tape shell
and then
copied them onto a DVD.
The
family told me that my services are PRICELESS after saving
their
family memories from a devastating house fire!
Can you imagine how terrible it would be to
loose all your precious moments
of your family's history? Video
Doc Productions can help!

Every time you watch your
videotapes, the quality is reduced slightly.
The mechanical nature and magnetic
videotape causes them to degrade over time.
Typical videotapes have a shelf life
of roughly 10 years.
Eventually, your tape will become nothing but a snowy,
static-filled memory.
You can extend the life of your memories by making the
conversion to DVD today!
DVD's will last approximately 100
years, and the quality will be exactly the same every time you watch it.
Each DVD can hold up to 2 hours of
video, and you may optionally choose to have
multiple tapes consolidated on to a single DVD.
Video Doc Productions can even
help you convert your entire home video library to DVD!
Think of the space
you'll save, alone!
DVD's CAN BECOME SCRATCHED AND NOT PLAYABLE.
DVD's ARE NOT SCRATCH-PROOF!

Here's a tip on how you can help
yourself while you select the tapes you want us to preserve for you.

EXERCISE YOUR
VIDEOTAPES
Videotapes will not last
forever!
It is
recommended that you "exercise" your videotapes at least once a year.
Just like we must exercise to stay fit, so do
your videotapes.
1. You should place your tapes in your
VCR and press STOP first to prevent the tape
from going into automatic play
mode.
2. Then press Fast Forward (FF).
Let the tape go to the end and then rewind.
This will physically move your videotapes and
prevent them from any potential signal loss.
When a videotape is wound
together, the tape that has
your electronic signal on it can electronically
"bleed" together and potentially
loose that signal if it is not periodically
moved from
one part of the tape to another.
3. You should do this at least once a
year on all videotapes that you want to keep for future use.
4. Then select the most important ones
you want to keep and have Video Doc Productions
convert them to a DVD for preservation and
future enjoyment.
